About Augustana

Augustana is an American rock band formed in 2002 in Southern Illinois, now based in San Diego. Led by singer-songwriter Dan Layus, their genre blends indie rock, roots rock and piano-driven ballads. Their biggest hit is “Boston” from the album All the Stars and Boulevards. Recent works include the 2024 LP Something Beautiful and solo piano album Everyday an Eternity (2022). Known for emotive lyrics, stirring melodies, and collaboration with Andy Skib as producer and co-writer.
